I offer Cycle to Work purchases through CycleScheme.Â
My approach is built around good conversations first, not pushing a specific bike or brand. Every customer starts with a short, friendly consultation to understand how they plan to use the bike, their riding experience, comfort needs, security and storage constraints, budget and any health or accessibility considerations. This ensures the recommendation is genuinely appropriate for their day-to-day needs rather than a generic off-the-shelf option.
Based on that discussion, I then research and identify the most suitable bikes available within the scheme framework, drawing from a wide range of reputable manufacturers and retailers. I explain the pros and cons of each option in plain language, including fit, riding position, motor systems where relevant, maintenance implications and long-term suitability. Customers are supported to make an informed choice, rather than being steered to a single product.
Once a bike is selected, I guide the customer through the process step by step, ensuring all eligibility, pricing and scheme requirements are met. I liaise with the brand distributor where needed to confirm availability, correct sizing and lead times, helping to avoid delays or unsuitable orders. My aim is to make the scheme simple and stress-free for the customer and compliant for the scheme provider.
After purchase, I remain available to support customers with setup questions, accessories, and advice on safe, comfortable use, as well as any warranty or service needs. This end-to-end service helps ensure the bike is actually used, enjoyed and integrated into daily life, which aligns with the UK Government's goal of supporting sustainable, long-term cycling rather than one-off transactions.
